Jess Wharmby Photography started as a bit of a personal project while I was working in childcare. I began taking candid photos of the children and families around me, and seeing how much joy those photos brought people is what made me want to turn it into something more. Armed with a camera and an eye for detail, I wanted to create a space where families could just be themselves and celebrate their moments naturally.

Over time, that grew into what it is today, a photography business built around a soft, relaxed and unobtrusive style.

I’m a wife and mummy myself, and having lived in Folkestone my whole life, I know the local area inside out, the best light, the best spots, and all the little places that work well for families. That local knowledge, along with knowing exactly how special these moments are, is something I bring to every single session.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many families, couples and businesses across Kent. From new parents celebrating their baby’s first milestones, to couples on their wedding day, every client brings their own story with them. I always try to build a genuine connection with my clients, so every session feels comfortable, relaxed and true to who you are.
